Graduate Science Teaching Assistant – Secondary

Full-Time | Immediate or September start | Coventry

£20,000 – £25,000

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Graduate Science Teaching Assistant to join a dynamic team at a reputable Coventry secondary school. This is the ideal opportunity for a graduate considering a career in the education sector to gain invaluable classroom experience in a supportive and inclusive environment.

You will work closely with the science department, alongside experienced educators, to provide support for students across Key Stages 3 and 4 to raise attainment and foster a love of science.

What is the role?

  • Support teaching and learning during science lessons (Biology, Chemistry and Physics)
  • Provide 1:1 and small group interventions for students needing extra support
  • Assist teachers with lesson preparation and delivery
  • Help students to develop their confidence and independent learning skills in the science classroom
  • Contribute to a positive and inclusive learning environment

What are we looking for?

  • A strong academic background, including a 2:1 or higher degree in a science- related subject from a leading university
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A proactive, patient and adaptable approach
  • Experience working with children and young people (desirable but not essential)
  • A passion for education and a desire to pursue a career in this field
