Senior MEP Project Manager / Project Director

Company: GH Engage
Apply for the Senior MEP Project Manager / Project Director
Location: Banbury
Job Description:

I’m working with a leading Tier 1 MEP contractor seeking an experienced Senior M&E Project Manager / Project Director to take a key leadership position on a major rail infrastructure project in Banbury.

This is a senior delivery role with responsibility for a significant MEP package, leading the project team and taking ownership of the scheme across programme, commercial performance, technical delivery, client relationships and overall project success.

The business is open to candidates from either an Electrical or Mechanical bias. Rail experience would be advantageous, but it is not essential — they are happy to consider strong senior project professionals from other major MEP environments, including commercial, healthcare, data centres and complex infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the successful delivery of a major MEP package on a large-scale rail infrastructure project.
  • Manage and develop the wider project team, including engineering, construction and commercial functions.
  • Take ownership of programme, budget, quality, health & safety and overall project performance.
  • Manage mechanical and electrical packages from pre-construction/design coordination through installation, commissioning and handover.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with the client, consultants, supply chain and key project stakeholders.
  • Oversee subcontractor performance, procurement and project resourcing.
  • Work closely with commercial teams to manage project costs, change, risk and opportunities.
  • Lead project meetings and provide clear reporting to senior management.
  • Identify potential programme and delivery risks early and implement appropriate mitigation strategies.
  • Drive a collaborative, high-performance culture across the project team.

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven experience at Senior Project Manager, Senior M&E Project Manager or Project Director level.
  • Strong background working for an MEP contractor, major specialist contractor or Tier 1 environment.
  • Either an Electrical or Mechanical bias is suitable.
  • Experience delivering large and technically complex MEP projects.
  • Rail or infrastructure experience is highly desirable but not a prerequisite.
  • Strong commercial awareness alongside technical and operational delivery experience.
  • Confident managing clients, subcontractors and multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Demonstrable experience taking ownership of projects through key delivery stages.
  • A stable employment history and evidence of longevity with previous employers is important for this appointment.

Package

A salary of up to £120,000 + package is available for the right individual, with the opportunity to join a major Tier 1 MEP business delivering one of the UK’s significant infrastructure programmes.

This would particularly suit an established Senior PM looking to step into greater project leadership or an experienced Project Director seeking a long-term position with a major MEP contractor.
