Senior Insights Analyst

Senior Insights Analyst | £55k – £60k | Hybrid | 1 day a week in Huddersfield

We’re working with a growing business in Huddersfield who are looking to bring in a Senior Insights Analyst to work closely with their Head of Customer Operations & Insights.

This isn’t just a reporting role. You’ll be working with people across the business, understanding what they’re trying to achieve, digging into the data and helping them make better decisions.

You’ll be using SQL and Power BI day to day, looking at customer, commercial, product and operational data, spotting trends and issues, and turning that into something the wider business can actually use.

What you’ll be doing:

• Working with stakeholders across the business to understand what they need from their data
• Getting underneath requests rather than just taking them at face value
• Using SQL to pull together, analyse and validate data
• Building and improving Power BI dashboards and reports
• Looking at customer, commercial and operational performance
• Spotting trends, risks and opportunities in the data
• Helping define and improve KPIs and reporting
• Presenting your findings and recommendations to both technical and non-technical people
• Working with data/engineering teams around data quality and discrepancies
• Helping reduce the amount of manual and ad-hoc reporting
• Looking at where AI and automation could make the reporting/insight process better

What they’re looking for:

• 3+ years’ experience in an Insights Data focussed role
• Strong SQL
• Good experience working with large datasets
• Power BI or a similar reporting/visualisation tool
• Comfortable working directly with stakeholders and gathering requirements
• Strong analytical skills and an ability to get to the “why” behind the numbers
• Someone who can take a piece of work from the initial question through to presenting the findings
• Good attention to detail: particularly around data accuracy
• Commercially curious and interested in how the analysis can actually help the business
