Production Manager

EE Glass is a leading manufacturer of Energy Efficient, insulated glass products, based in Portsmouth. We are seeking a skilled Production Manager to oversee our manufacturing processes and ensure efficiency and quality in our production operations.

With our continuous investment in state-of-the-art equipment, our production facilities can supply our customers with the latest in glass technologies. We are a highly responsive business that understands some jobs need a very quick turn-around.

Responsibilities:

• Plan, schedule, and coordinate production operations and activities.
• Implement and manage business processes to enhance productivity and quality control
• Conduct quality control checks to uphold product standards
• Provide strong leadership and ensure that product quality standards are met, and customers receive their orders on time, and to their specification.
• Monitor and action transport KPI reports.
• Supply an essential link between sales & customer services, supply chain, production, quality and despatch.
• Supervise production staff, providing guidance, training, and support
• Ensure that direct labour, raw materials and fabrication resources are used effectively and efficiently.
• Develop, engage, and build a dedicated and effective team
• Comply and educate staff on safety, quality, and environmental standards
• Help resolve employee issues

Skills and experience:

• Previous production management experience within glass processing desirable
• Production management experience within the manufacturing industry
• Strong understanding of business processes, supply chain management, and quality control practices
• Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team
• Ability to drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency
• Highly organised, self-motivated with excellent oral and written communication skills
• Must be able to manage multiple tasks and priorities and easily adapt to changing situations
• Computer literate for production planning, reporting, using bespoke software and Microsoft packages

Hours:

Primarily day shift with some occasional flexibility to work different hours depending on the needs of the business.
