A London Borough is seeking an Experienced Adults Lawyer to join their legal team on a temporary basis for an initial 3-month contract, with the potential for extension. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled local government lawyer who is available at short notice and can hit the ground running.
The Role
You will provide high-quality legal advice and representation on a range of matters relating to:
- Adult Social Care
- Mental Health Law
- Court of Protection proceedings
Managing your own caseload, you will advise client departments and conduct a varied workload of Court of Protection matters, ensuring the provision of pragmatic and solution-focused legal support.
To be considered, you must have:
- Significant experience working within a Local Authority legal team
- Strong knowledge of legislation relating to Adult Social Care, Mental Health, and the Court of Protection
- Proven experience managing a busy Court of Protection caseload independently
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Good IT skills, including experience using legal case management systems and recording time and case information accurately
- The ability to start at short notice
- Hybrid working
