Job SummarynnLocation: ClydebanknnType: Office based full timennHours of work: 8.00am – 4.30pm, Monday to Friday.nnnOur client is a thriving and growing SME business within the construction sector, looking for a dynamic Finance and Office Manager to become a key member of their team to lead the financial operations and oversee daily office functions.nnnWorking closely with the Directors, you will take ownership of the administrative and financial operations of the business. You will support, manage and develop the office team to ensure everything runs efficiently behind the scenes, allowing the Directors to focus on the operational and commercial growth of the company.nnnThe ideal candidate will be proactive, organised, and possess excellent communication skills to foster a productive work environment. You will play a pivotal role in maintaining financial accuracy, managing office administration, and supporting team collaboration to drive organisational success.nnnDutiesnnnWork closely with the directors, providing high level business and administration support, ensuring priorities are managed and followed through.nnTake ownership for the smooth running of the office, building a motivated and effective team. Providing clear direction, guidance and support.nnResponsible for all financial activities including bookkeeping, budgeting, and expense tracking using Xero accounting software.nnManage accounts payable processes, ensuring invoices are accurately processed and paid on time.nnSales, purchase ledger and bank reconciliations, ensuring accuracy.nnMaintain organised records of financial documents, receipts, and statements for audit readiness.nnRun month-end closing activities by preparing reports and verifying data integrity.nnCollaborate with team members to resolve discrepancies and improve financial procedures.nnPayroll management on Xero accounting software.nnDevelop office procedures, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, communication and organisation.nnCoordinate human resources functions such as onboarding new employees, maintaining personnel records, and assisting with benefits administration.nnManage all communication channels including phone calls, emails, and in-person inquiries with professionalism and courtesy.nnnSkillsnnnA qualification in Business Management/Accounting would be advantageous.nnA confident and supportive management style, with proven experience of developing effective small administrative teams.nnComfortable working within an SME environment where responsibilities can be broad and priorities change quickly.nnProficiency in Xero accounting software for accurate financial management, payroll processing and comfortable learning other in-house systems.nnDemonstrated team management experience with the ability to lead and manage an efficient small team.nnKnowledge of human resources practices including onboarding, employee records management, and benefits administrationnnExcellent communication skills both verbal and written, to facilitate clear internal and external communication.nnExceptional organisational skills with attention to detail in managing multiple changing priorities simultaneously.nnnExperience in a construction, engineering or manufacturing SME would be advantageous.nnThis position offers an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual eager to contribute to a thriving organisation through effective financial oversight and office leadership.
