Overview
In this role you will provide specialist employee relations support across complex casework, partnering with the HR team to resolve issues and drive fair, compliant outcomes. You will advise managers on ER matters in line with UK employment law, conduct investigations, and support hearings while maintaining confidential records. The role sits within a larger HR function, focusing on proactive people initiatives and policy development. This is an opportunity to shape practice in a regulated financial services environment and partner with stakeholders to improve workforce wellbeing and engagement.

Responsibilities
- Manage a varied caseload of employee relations matters (disciplinary, grievance, capability, absences)
- Conduct investigations and prepare detailed documentation and recommendations
- Provide ER advice to managers in line with policy and UK law
- Support formal hearings and ensure fair, compliant processes
- Act as escalation point for complex ER queries
- Advise on reasonable adjustments and coordinate occupational health referrals
- Support mediation and informal conflict resolution
- Monitor ER trends and provide insights for proactive initiatives
- Assist with review, development and communication of HR policies and procedures
- Maintain accurate ER records for audit and reporting
- Support employee engagement, wellbeing and inclusion initiatives
- Build strong relationships with HR and wider organisation
Key requirements
- Proven ER advisory or HR advisory experience with strong ER focus
- Solid knowledge of UK employment law and ER best practice
- Experience managing complex ER cases from investigation to resolution
- Excellent advisory, coaching and stakeholder management skills
- Strong investigation, problem-solving and report-writing abilities
- Experience in large, complex or regulated environments
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion
- Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
- Experience using HR systems and maintaining records
- Exposure to ER reporting, data analysis and trend monitoring advantageous
- Past experience in financial services or regulated environments beneficial
