Overview
In this role you will lead and shape UX research across UCL’s digital estate, turning user insights into meaningful product improvements. You will partner with product owners, designers and technologists to influence decisions and embed evidence-based methods. You’ll develop and champion research standards, mentor peers, and help build a culture where user evidence guides design and delivery. Responsibilities
- Lead complex user research across the digital estate and translate findings into actionable product improvements
- Collaborate with product owners, researchers, designers, and tech colleagues to inform decision-making
- Influence project and strategic decisions through evidence and insights
- Develop, embed, and evolve UX research methods, tools, and ways of working
- Support and mentor other researchers and contribute to building research capability
- Facilitate workshops and collaborative sessions with various stakeholders
- Utilize a range of prototyping, testing, and research techniques to inform design
- Advocate for user-centred design and promote a culture of evidence-based decision making
Key requirements
- Significant experience planning and delivering user research across complex products/services using qualitative and quantitative methods
- Experience in multi-disciplinary, agile product/service teams
- Ability to translate research findings into clear, actionable insights for diverse audiences, including senior stakeholders
- Experience influencing product, service, or organizational decisions through research
- Experience developing, improving, or embedding UX research practices, standards, tools or ways of working
- Experience mentoring or coaching other researchers and enhancing research capability
- Experience facilitating workshops with stakeholders
- Experience using a range of prototyping, testing or research tools
- Advocacy for user-centred design and evidence-based decision making
- Qualification or relevant experience in computer science, design, HCI, psychology, research methods, or related discipline
