Financial Systems Analyst

Overview

In this role you will support and develop the finance information systems to ensure accurate reporting and value for money across the NHS Trust. You will lead on liaising with the system provider and the Digital department, while championing GDPR and information governance. You’ll work within a small, experienced team to explore improvements and develop new reports and finance processes. This is a hands-on role with opportunities to learn and grow in NHS Finance and Informatics.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive system support to the finance department
• Lead day-to-day liaison with the current system provider (NEP) and Trust Digital department
• Investigate and improve existing processes to maintain high standards
• Lead technical discussions and communicate requirements clearly across teams
• Contribute to Trust-level financial reporting and system information integrity
• Support agile working with remote and office-based collaboration
• Travel across the Northwest for occasional meetings when needed

Key requirements

• Advanced/expert SQL (Transact) and SQL Server experience
• Proficiency with reporting tools (QlikView/BO/PowerBI) and report writing from scratch
• Strong understanding of business processes and data quality
• Analytical mindset with attention to detail
• Ability to work to tight deadlines and manage priorities
• Experience in managing and developing complex information systems
• Excellent written and verbal communication to present financial information and systems concepts
• Ability to design and implement changes to improve systems using tools like Power Apps/SQL
• Experience in HR processes and compassionate, inclusive leadership
• Educated to Degree level or equivalent
• MCTS certified or equivalent qualification in other technology
• Understanding of Information Governance and GDPR
