Overview
As Senior Project Manager for civil rail projects in London, you will lead complex multi-disciplinary civil works from start to finish, ensuring on-time delivery within budget while upholding safety standards. You’ll report to the Operations Director and coordinate cross-functional teams and stakeholders across CP5 with a view to progressing into CP6. This role offers high-impact leadership in a major UK civils contractor, focusing on large-scale rail schemes in London and surrounding areas. You will shape delivery strategies, manage resources, and drive project performance to a high finish.
Responsibilities
- Oversee projects from inception to completion
- Plan projects, budgeting, and resource identification
- Build and guide teams, set objectives, assign duties
- Monitor construction progress and hold progress meetings with stakeholders
- Ensure project documentation is complete and organized
- Coordinate all parties involved in the project
- Maintain high health and safety standards on site and within policy
- Control site activities and resolve on-site issues
- Manage projects to meet budget and schedule
- Maintain a high standard of project finish
Key requirements
- Proven experience in a Senior/Project Manager/Contracts Manager or similar role in a main civils contractor
- Track record with clients at senior level
- Significant post-qualification experience in civils/rail projects valued at £20m+
- 10+ years’ Civil Engineering experience
