Senior Operations Manager – Oil & Gas Facilities

Our client is seeking a highly capable and experienced Senior Operations Manager to oversee their critical Oil & Gas facilities in the Randburg area. This leadership role is responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and profitable operation of production, processing, and storage assets. You will lead a diverse team of engineers, technicians, and operational staff, driving performance improvements, managing budgets, and ensuring compliance with all regulatory and company standards. This position offers a significant opportunity to impact operational strategy and execution in a key industrial hub within Gauteng.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day operations of oil and gas facilities, ensuring optimal production and performance.
• Develop and implement operational strategies, plans, and procedures to meet production targets and business objectives.
• Lead and mentor operations teams, fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• Oversee budget development and management for operational expenditures and capital projects.
• Ensure strict adherence to all health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations and company policies.
• Manage relationships with key stakeholders, including vendors, contractors, and regulatory bodies.
• Drive initiatives to enhance operational efficiency, reduce costs, and improve asset reliability.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Petroleum, Chemical, Mechanical) or a related technical field. An MBA is a plus.
• Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in operations management within the Oil & Gas industry, with significant experience in facility management.
• Proven track record of leading large teams and managing complex operational budgets.
• Strong understanding of production, processing, and safety systems in the upstream and midstream sectors.
• Excellent leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience operating in the Randburg or similar industrial region, with strong knowledge of local regulations and logistics.
