Senior Software Engineer

To develop and maintain a microservices-based system using PHP and modern frameworks, contributing to the re-architecture of our bespoke platform., The Senior Software Engineer will be responsible for implementing microservices using PHP, with a strong emphasis on Laravel or similar frameworks. The role also involves database design and development, API integration, and DevOps practices in a Dockerized environment. Collaboration with legacy systems and mentoring junior developers will be part of the role.

Requirements

• The key requirement for this position is to have proven skills in designing and implementing microservices and technology architectures for new systems.

Core Responsibilities

• Develop scalable microservices using PHP and Laravel (or similar frameworks).
• Design and implement relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL), including schema design and SQL query optimization.
• Build and maintain RESTful APIs and authentication mechanisms (e.g., OAuth2, SAML).
• Manage containerized environments using Docker and Docker Compose.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate microservices with legacy systems.
• Participate in code reviews, testing, and deployment processes.
• Contribute to DevOps workflows including CI/CD pipelines and cloud deployments.

Required Experience

• Proven experience in PHP development using Laravel or other recognized frameworks.
• Strong understanding of microservices architecture and principles.
• Experience with Docker and container orchestration.
• Proficiency in database design and SQL (PostgreSQL or MySQL preferred).
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., Kamatera or similar).
• Experience with source control systems (e.g., Git).
• Comfortable working in Visual Studio Code or similar IDEs.
• Knowledge of web servers (Apache or Nginx).
