Emtech Recruitment is currently working with a leading engineering consultancy that is looking to appoint an experienced Principal Civil Engineer to join their growing Leeds team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Senior or Principal-level engineer to take a key role within a multidisciplinary team, working on a varied range of projects across the built environment.
The Role
As a Principal Civil Engineer, you will be involved in the design and delivery of a diverse range of projects, providing technical leadership and supporting the development of the wider engineering team.
Current projects include:
- Residential developments
- Commercial buildings
- Schools and hospitals
- Industrial projects
- Waste handling and recycling facilities
- Prison and public-sector buildings
- Decarbonisation and energy-related projects
Decarbonisation and energy-related projectsYour responsibilities will include:
- Producing and overseeing technical designs, calculations and specifications
- Providing technical guidance and mentoring to junior engineers
- Working collaboratively with multidisciplinary project teams
- Managing project delivery, priorities and resources
- Liaising with clients, contractors and other stakeholders
- Maintaining high technical and quality standards
- Supporting the continued growth and development of the Leeds team
Requirements
The successful candidate will ideally have:
- A degree or Master’s qualification in Civil Engineering
- 10+ years’ experience within civil and structural engineering
- Strong experience designing and delivering complex construction projects
- Chartered Engineer status, or be working towards Chartership
- Good knowledge of relevant design standards, codes and regulations
- Experience with industry-standard civil/structural engineering software
- Strong communication and client-facing skills
- A proactive, self-motivated and collaborative approach
- A full UK driving licence
