Our client, a leading global financial services firm in Glasgow, is recruiting for a Tax Consultant to join their EMEA Corporate Tax team on a 9-month temporary basis.
This is a senior role within the EMEA Corporate Tax team, overseeing a portfolio of tax reporting and compliance responsibilities across multiple jurisdictions, with a particular focus on the UK.
Skills/Experience:
- Relevant professional accountancy or tax qualification (ACCA, CIMA, CA or CTA)
- Experience with UK Corporation Tax, gained in Practice or Industry
- Background in financial services or an in-house tax department preferred
- Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
- Aptitude for working in a fast-changing, dynamic environment, managing a portfolio of deliverables and meeting tight deadlines
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint and Word); experience with Oracle TRCS would be an advantage
Core Responsibilities:
- Managing UK and EMEA corporate tax compliance, forecasting and provisioning
- Calculating and reviewing corporate income tax and deferred tax accounting entries
- Overseeing tax disclosures within financial statements
- Managing responses to regulatory and tax authority audits
- Coordinating quarterly effective tax rate calculations under US GAAP and IFRS
- Overseeing corporate income tax return submissions
- Working closely with Tax, Finance and wider business stakeholders
- Managing and developing team members through coaching, training and support
- Driving process improvements, automation and operational efficiencies
- Building strong relationships with key internal stakeholders
- Managing additional tax reporting and analytical requirements as needed
