Global Networks is assisting a leading, independent and integrated energy organisation to hire an experienced Head of Product Control to take ownership of a global control function supporting a complex trading environment. This senior leadership role is responsible for overseeing production, governance, and enhancement of trading-related financial reporting while driving a robust control framework across international operations.
The successful candidate will bring deep expertise in Product Control within a trading organisation and currently operate at Director, Head of Product Control, or Senior Product Controller level.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership to a global Product Control function, fostering a high-performance culture and supporting the development of team members.
- Ensure the accurate, complete, and timely delivery of daily trading performance reporting, position reporting, valuation metrics, and risk-related information.
- Maintain a strong control environment across trading activities, ensuring appropriate governance and oversight of trading portfolios.
- Partner closely with Trading, Risk, Finance, and senior stakeholders to provide transparency and challenge around financial and risk reporting.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to streamline processes, enhance controls, and optimise reporting capabilities.
- Lead transformation and change programmes aimed at improving operational efficiency, automation, and system effectiveness across the Product Control landscape.
- Establish consistent global standards while balancing regional and business-specific requirements.
Candidate Profile
- Current experience as a Director of Product Control, Head of Product Control, or a highly experienced Senior Product Controller ready for a strategic leadership position.
- Strong knowledge of trading P&L reporting, position reporting, valuation controls, and market risk metrics.
- Demonstrated success leading and developing Product Control teams within a trading, commodities, energy, banking, or capital markets environment.
- Experience implementing process improvements, control enhancements, and large-scale change initiatives.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence and challenge senior business leaders.
- A proactive, solutions-focused approach with strong analytical and leadership capabilities.
