Site Manager – Grade II Listed Building Refurbishment Location: Stoke-on-Trent Contract: Freelance / Self-Employed Duration: Approximately 12 months Rate: £250-£280 per day Project Value: £3m-£4m We are currently recruiting for an experienced Site Manager to take responsibility for the delivery of a £3m-£4m refurbishment and conversion project in Stoke-on-Trent. The project involves the full fit-out and conversion of a Grade II Listed building to create residential apartments, alongside significant external works including facade refurbishment and roof works. This is a long-term opportunity for an experienced Site Manager with a strong background in refurbishment, fit-out or heritage projects, who is confident managing subcontractors, programme and day-to-day site operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Take day-to-day responsibility for the site and construction activities.
- Manage and coordinate subcontractors and site operatives.
- Ensure works are delivered safely, to programme and to the required quality standards.
- Coordinate internal fit-out and apartment conversion works.
- Oversee facade, roofing and associated external works.
- Work closely with the Project Manager and wider delivery team.
- Monitor progress against the programme and address any issues promptly.
- Maintain high standards of health & safety and site housekeeping.
- Coordinate materials, deliveries and site logistics.
- Ensure works are carried out in accordance with drawings, specifications and project requirements.
- Liaise with clients, consultants and other project stakeholders as required.
- Maintain site records, inductions, inspections and relevant documentation.
About You
- Proven experience as a Site Manager on refurbishment, fit-out or conversion projects.
- Experience working on listed buildings, heritage properties or complex refurbishment projects would be highly advantageous.
- Strong knowledge of construction processes
