A note from our Medical Director
I’m looking for a GP to lead Portland’s clinical team with me.
Portland is a busy practice in South Norwood looking after 15,000patients from one of London’s most diverse communities. We run total triage through Klinik, and our clinical team includes GPs, nurses, pharmacists and ARRS clinicians. A lot of what we do works well. Some of it needs a senior GP on the ground, every day, to put right.
That is the job. You would be the person the team turns to with a difficult case or a problem, and the person who makes sure it gets sorted. You would have protected time to do it, a real say in how the practice runs, and me working alongside you.

What you would do
Lead the clinical team day to day as the senior GP colleagues go to. Get access right with the Practice Manager: triage, rota, and matching capacity to demand. Run clinical governance: significant events, audit, prescribing safety and learning from complaints. Lead QOF and IIF delivery. Supervise and develop our GPs, nurses, pharmacists and ARRS clinicians. Keep your own clinical sessions, so leadership decisions stay grounded in real practice.

About you
You are a GP, 2+yearspost-CCT, whom colleagues already come to for advice. You don’t need a leadership title. You do need to have led something, whether a team, a service change, a QOF area or a governance process, and seen it through. You are fair, steady under pressure, and able to handle a difficult conversation well.
You will need full GMC registration with a licence to practise, inclusion on the NHS Performers List, and MRCGP or CCT in general practice. The full person specification is attached.
