Working Pattern: Initially 5 days onsite; reducing to 4 days onsite / 1 day remote

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Product Development Test Engineer to support the design and execution of Verification & Validation (V&V) activities for complex, integrated products.
This is a technical V&V role within a product development environment and requires experience testing integrated machines incorporating electromechanical hardware, firmware, control systems and software.
Software testing experience alone will not be suitable for this position.
Key Responsibilities
- Design V&V activities for complex, integrated machines
- Create test plans and detailed test protocols, including test cases and methods
- Support test execution, documentation and anomaly management
- Produce clear technical reports and test documentation
- Develop templates for test documentation and reporting
- Lead reviews of test protocols with wider engineering teams
- Maintain clear documentation and traceability throughout the V&V process
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary engineering teams
- Use initiative and continuously develop technical knowledge to solve problems
- Proven experience designing V&V activities within a product development environment
- Experience testing complex, integrated machines/products
- Experience spanning electromechanical hardware, firmware, control systems and software
- Strong understanding of test planning, protocols, test cases and test methods
- Excellent documentation, planning and reporting skills, particularly where traceability is critical
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to liaise with wider engineering teams and lead protocol reviews
- Experience working within a New Product Development (NPD) environment
- Ability to work independently, use initiative and continuously develop technical knowledge
- Experience, understanding or interest in physics, biology or fluid mechanics
- Experience within a highly regulated or technically complex product environment
- Experience working with medical, laboratory, scientific or other complex instrumentation
The successful candidate will be someone who enjoys problem solving, using initiative and learning new technical areas within a New Product Development environment.
You should have a good understanding of how hardware, firmware, controls and software work together as a complete system.
