About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly analytical and data-driven Sports Analytics Specialist to join their team in Randburg . This role involves collecting, processing, and analyzing vast amounts of sports data to provide actionable insights for team performance, player development, and strategic decision-making. You will work closely with coaches, performance analysts, and management to identify trends, evaluate strategies, and enhance competitive advantages. Key Responsibilities

• Collect, clean, and manage diverse sports datasets from various sources.
• Develop and apply statistical models and machine learning techniques to analyze player and team performance.
• Create clear and concise visualizations and reports to communicate findings to stakeholders.
• Collaborate with coaching staff to translate data insights into practical performance improvements.
• Identify key performance indicators (KPIs) and develop tracking systems.
• Stay abreast of the latest advancements in sports analytics and data science methodologies.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Sports Analytics Specialist or Data Scientist in a sports context.
• Strong proficiency in data analysis tools and programming languages (e.g., Python, R, SQL).
• Expertise in statistical modeling, machine learning, and data visualization techniques.
• Deep understanding of sports dynamics, rules, and performance metrics.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Statistics, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field.
