System Engineer

I’m currently supporting an exciting defence engineering organisation with the recruitment of a Model Based Systems Engineer to join their team in Kidderminster.

This role offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects, leveraging advanced modeling techniques to develop and validate complex systems. As a key contributor, you will collaborate across multidisciplinary teams to drive system architecture and ensure seamless integration of model-based development processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, analyze, and validate system models using industry-standard modeling tools and languages (e.g., MATLAB/Simulink, SysML).
• Contribute to the design and implementation of system architecture, ensuring alignment with project requirements and industry standards.
• Collaborate with hardware and software teams to integrate models into overall system development.
• Perform simulations to predict system behavior, identify potential issues, and optimize performance.
• Support requirement traceability and documentation to ensure compliance with project specifications.
• Participate in system reviews, technical meetings, and project planning sessions.
• Maintain thorough documentation of models, methodologies, and results to support ongoing development and future reference.

What We’re Looking For

• Proven experience in model-based systems engineering within aerospace, defense, automotive, or similar industries.
• Proficiency with modeling and simulation tools such as MATLAB/Simulink, IBM Rational Rhapsody, or SysML tools.
• Strong understanding of system architecture, requirements management, and systems integration.
• Ability to interpret and translate system requirements into detailed models.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Effective communication skills for collaboration across multidisciplinary teams.
• Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field (advanced degrees preferred).
