Air Conditioning Engineer – Sutton-in-Ashfield

Are you an experienced Air Conditioning Engineer looking to get away from a mobile role and work permanently at one site?

We’re recruiting for a site-based Air Conditioning Engineer to join a leading global Facilities Management provider, working at a large distribution facility in Sutton-in-Ashfield, Nottinghamshire.

This is an excellent opportunity for an AC Engineer who wants the stability of a permanent site while still having plenty of variety in their working day.

Your primary trade will be Air Conditioning / HVAC, carrying out planned and reactive maintenance, servicing and fault finding. However, this is a Facilities Management environment, so we’re looking for someone who is also happy to turn their hand to general fabric maintenance and routine building PPMs when required.

In return, you’ll receive a £43,000 basic salary, overtime paid at 1.5x, 25 days holiday plus Bank Holidays and access to extensive training and career progression opportunities within a global FM business.

What’s on Offer?

  • £43,000 basic salary

  • Overtime paid at 1.5x

  • 25 days annual leave + Bank Holidays

  • Permanent, site-based position

  • No travelling between multiple sites

  • Extensive training and development opportunities

  • Excellent long-term career progression

  • Opportunity to gain additional qualifications

  • Varied AC, HVAC and building maintenance workload

The Role

As the site’s Air Conditioning Engineer, you’ll be responsible for maintaining a range of air conditioning and HVAC systems, completing planned preventative maintenance and responding to reactive faults and breakdowns.

You’ll work as part of the wider site engineering team, helping to keep the distribution facility operating safely and efficiently.

Typical AC and HVAC duties will include:

  • Planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on air conditioning systems

  • Reactive AC maintenance and breakdowns

  • Air conditioning fault finding and diagnostics

  • Servicing and maintenance

  • Split and multi-split systems

  • VRV / VRF systems

  • AHUs and associated HVAC equipment

  • Identifying and completing remedial works

  • Refrigerant checks

  • Ensuring compliance with F-Gas regulations

  • Completing job sheets and maintenance records

  • Updating CAFM systems

  • Liaising with site teams and customers

More Than Just Air Conditioning

While Air Conditioning will be your primary trade, we’re looking for an engineer with a genuinely multi-skilled Facilities Management approach.

There will be times when AC work is quieter, and you’ll be expected to support the wider engineering team with general building maintenance and routine PPM tasks.

This could include:

  • Basic fabric repairs

  • Doors, handles, hinges and fixtures

  • Minor carpentry

  • Basic plumbing tasks

  • Minor leaks and plumbing repairs

  • General building maintenance

  • Visual inspections

  • Routine compliance PPMs

  • General site maintenance tasks

You don’t need to be a qualified plumber, carpenter or fabric engineer.

What we’re looking for is an AC Engineer who is willing to turn their hand to other straightforward maintenance tasks and work as part of the wider FM team.

What We’re Looking For

The successful candidate will ideally have:

  • F-Gas Category 1

  • Recognised Air Conditioning / Refrigeration qualification
