We are currently recruiting Youth Support Workers in Burnley to support young individuals aged 16-18. Many of the young people in our care present with complex mental health needs and challenging behaviors, requiring dedicated support to help them transition into independent living.
Key Responsibilities
- Providing high-quality emotional and practical support to young adults aged 16-18.
- Managing and de-escalating challenging behaviors effectively and compassionately.
- Supporting individuals with mental health challenges, encouraging positive coping mechanisms.
- Assisting with life-skills development, budgeting, education, and daily routines.
- Maintaining detailed shift logs and support plans.
Requirements
- Previous experience working with adolescents (16-18) or vulnerable young people.
- Experience handling challenging behavior and a solid understanding of youth mental health.
- Strong communication, de-escalation, and active listening skills.
- NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care / Children & Young People (desirable, but relevant experience is key)
