Factory Operative

Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Production Technician / Machine Operativeto support our manufacturing operations. This role is essential in ensuring the smooth running of our production line and maintaining the high-quality standards our customers expect. Pay Rate: £12.71 per hour with a permanent position after 6 months for the successful candidate.

Hours: Monday – Friday, 07:00 – 16:30 (1 hour unpaid break per day, split into 2 x 30 minute breaks.)

Responsibilities

• Perform all production tasks, including food preparation, blending, packaging, and presenting finished goods to the warehouse.




• Maintain cleanliness of machinery and work areas to company standards.




• Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain an “audit-ready” mindset.




• Accurately record data and interpret production schedules.




• Proactively fault-find and resolve technical issues.




• Work collaboratively with the team to meet and exceed departmental KPIs.




• Undertake any training required to support business goals and values.




• Flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends during peak times.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in food manufacturing is highly desirable.




• A good understanding of food safety regulations.




• Technically minded with the ability to fault-find and resolve issues.




• Reliable, self-disciplined, and a strong team player.




• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.




• Own transport is required due to the location and shift timings.

Day-to-Day

• Complete cleaning tasks and stack pallets on the production line.




• Lift up to 15kg continuously throughout the shift.




• Operate machinery and ensure all production tasks are completed efficiently.




• Maintain a clean and safe working environment.




• Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.




• Adhere to production schedules and ensure timely delivery of finished goods.
