Van Driver – Building Materials Deliveries

£13.00 per hour

Based in Livingston – mainly covering deliveries to Aberdeen Full-time | 3-6 month temporary assignment

Driver Hire Edinburgh West is recruiting a reliable and hardworking Van Driver to join our client’s growing team.

This is a varied delivery role, mainly covering Aberdeen, with occasional Central Belt routes. You’ll be delivering building materials to sites and carrying out some manual handling as part of the role.

The Role

• Driving a company van to deliver building materials to customer sites.
• Mainly covering Aberdeen, with some Central Belt routes.
• Approximately 5-30 deliveries per day, depending on the route.
• Delivering a variety of items, from smaller materials through to wheelbarrows and full pallets.
• Manual handling and unloading will be required.
• Full pallets will generally be unloaded using a forklift on site.
• Building good working relationships with customers and site managers.
• When quieter, there may be opportunities to speak with site managers about any additional requirements.
• Completing daily vehicle checks and keeping the vehicle clean and tidy.

What We’re Looking For

• Full UK driving licence with no more than 6 penalty points.
• Previous van driving or delivery experience is essential.
• Good geographical knowledge and confidence using navigation systems.
• Physically fit and comfortable with heavy lifting and manual handling.
• Reliable, punctual and able to work independently.
• Friendly and confident when dealing with customers and site managers.

Working Hours

• Monday to Friday
• Approximately 7:00am – 5:00pm
• Some flexibility required depending on delivery routes, with earlier starts possible for longer-distance runs.

Contract

• 3-6 month temporary assignment initially
• Full-time hours
• Longer-term opportunities may become available depending on business growth and expansion.
