We are looking for a resilient and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to provide dedicated support to a non‑verbal autistic pupil in Reception at a welcoming mainstream primary school in Chigwell, IG7.
Role Responsibilities
- Providing dedicated 1:1 support within a Reception classroom
- Supporting a non‑verbal pupil with autism
- Assisting with communication, engagement and classroom activities
- Providing personal care as required
- Supporting the pupil with regulation and managing physical behaviours safely and calmly
- Working closely with the class teacher and wider SEN team
- Helping the pupil feel safe, secure and included within the mainstream classroom
Ideal Candidate
- Be patient, resilient and proactive
- Be comfortable providing personal care
- Be confident supporting a child who may display physical behaviours
- Ideally have experience supporting children with ASD, SEND or communication needs
- Have a calm and consistent approach to behaviour
- Be passionate about helping children with additional needs thrive
Location: Chigwell, IG7
Pay: £105 per day
Personal care is an essential requirement of this role.
