The opportunity
I’m working with a leading UK training provider to find a Digital Learning Consultant to coach and mentor learners on the AI & Automation Practitioner Level 4 apprenticeship standard.
This is a remote coaching role rather than a classroom teaching role. You’ll own a caseload of learners across smaller organisations and corporate environments, guiding them from onboarding through to End Point Assessment — making sure they stay engaged, evidence their learning properly, and finish on time.
It’s a great fit for someone with real commercial experience in AI, automation or low-code who wants to move into the training and development space, or for an experienced apprenticeship coach with a genuine technical grounding in this area.
What you’ll be doing
- Coaching and supporting an agreed caseload of learners towards timely completion of their apprenticeship
- Holding regular remote progress reviews with learners, their line managers and workplace mentors
- Observing, reviewing and giving written feedback on learner evidence to make sure it meets awarding organisation standards
- Helping learners apply their learning directly to their day job across a range of modules
- Working alongside Learning Specialists, Digital Learning Advisors and Quality Assurance colleagues to bridge classroom and online learning
- Running cohort-wide, “many-to-many” online coaching using virtual sessions, group communications and the e-portfolio platform
- Making sure learners understand and meet their off-the-job training requirements
- Keeping accurate learner records in line with funding body and regulatory requirements
- Maintaining your own CPD and staying current in a fast-moving subject area
The technical knowledge you’ll need
You’ll be giving feedback and support on the content below, so you’ll need a working understanding of most of it:
- AI and automation tooling – Microsoft Copilot, Power Automate, APIs, RPA, production flows, logging and documentation
- Low-code development – GitHub Copilot, Python, the Microsoft Power Platform
- Organisational context – ethical AI adoption, organisational change, identifying productivity improvements, project and change management principles
- Governance and compliance – legal and regulatory frameworks, ethical principles in AI, benefits and risks of AI and automation, security and governance, assuring compliance
- Solution design – human-centred AI and automation design, sources of error and algorithmic bias, the project development lifecycle, sustainable solution design
- Testing and evaluation – solution viability, application testing principles, human oversight and human/AI collaboration, evaluating impact, long-term monitoring
- Enablement – training and engagement approaches for technical and non-technical audiences, building support resources, inclusive stakeholder communication, collaborative working, wellbeing and safe working practices
