Veritas Education is currently recruiting for a Teaching Assistant to support a Year 1 class at a welcoming and supportive primary school in the area.
Monday, Tuesday and Thursday 8:45am – 3:30pm
30-minute lunch break
Immediate start
Expected to continue until Christmas, possibly longer
The Role
As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the Year 1 class teacher to support pupils with their learning and development. Year 1 is an important stage in a child’s education, helping them build confidence and independence as they transition from the Early Years curriculum into Key Stage 1.
- Supporting the class teacher with daily classroom activities
- Working with small groups of pupils to reinforce learning
- Providing additional support in literacy and numeracy
- Helping pupils stay engaged and focused during lessons
- Promoting a positive, safe and nurturing learning environment
- Assisting with classroom organisation and preparation of resources
The Ideal Candidate
- Has experience working with primary-aged children
- Is patient, caring and enthusiastic
- Can build positive relationships with pupils and staff
- Is confident supporting learning across the curriculum
- Has a genuine passion for helping children achieve their potential
