The job in a nutshell:
As Quantity Surveyor, youll join an established Commercial team and take responsibility for the commercial management of construction and civil engineering projects.
Youll be involved throughout the project lifecycle, from appointing and negotiating with subcontractors through to managing packages, valuations, variations and final accounts.
Youll work closely with Contracts Managers and site teams, carrying out site visits to review completed works, monitor costs and help ensure projects are delivered commercially and to a high standard.
Should you apply?
You should apply if you have 5+ years experience within Quantity Surveying or a similar commercial construction role and are comfortable managing subcontractor packages and project costs.
Ideally, youll have:
- Degree in Quantity Surveying or another construction-related discipline
- 5+ years experience in a similar role
- Strong knowledge of construction contracts including JCT, NEC and/or PWC
- Experience managing subcontractors from appointment through to final account
- Experience preparing and submitting valuations and variations
- Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills
- Ability to manage priorities and work to deadlines
- Good Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel and Outlook
- Full valid driving licence
