Process Engineer Derry | Permanent | Monday-Friday
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Process Engineer to join a growing manufacturing organisation based in Derry.
The successful candidate will provide technical support to the production function, with a key focus on process improvement, cost reduction, safety enhancement and troubleshooting. The Role As Process Engineer, you will work closely with production, technical and engineering teams to identify opportunities for improvement and implement practical solutions.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Supporting manufacturing operations with process and technical improvements.
- Leading and participating in Lean Six Sigma projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Troubleshooting production and process issues, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
- Supporting equipment modifications, qualifications, validations and new equipment installations.
- Conducting development and qualification trial runs.
- Establishing and improving manufacturing standard operating conditions.
- Supporting the development and testing of new products and processes.
- Identifying opportunities for cost reduction, waste reduction and increased throughput.
- Using data and statistical methods to analyse processes and support decision-making.
- Supporting capital projects, including the specification of new equipment and components.
- Working with production, R&D, technical and other internal teams on improvement projects.
- Providing training and support to operators following equipment or process changes.
- Ensuring all work is carried out in line with health, safety and quality requirements.
About You The ideal candidate will have:
- A degree in Engineering or a related discipline, or significant relevant manufacturing/industrial experience.
- Experience working within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Experience of project coordination and delivering improvement projects.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes.
- Good mechanical, electrical or industrial knowledge.
- Experience with data analysis and statistical methods.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma principles.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a wider team.
- Strong problem-solving and organisational skills.
Experience of project management, SAP and Lean Six Sigma methodology would be advantageous. Working Hours
- Monday – Thursday: 8:00am – 5:00pm
- Friday: 8:00am – 12:00pm
