South East London | Cometative Salary + Benefits

Are you an experienced Children’s Home Manager, or a strong Deputy ready to step up, looking for the chance to lead an already‑registered home into its next chapter of stability, quality and growth?

This is a fantastic opportunity to take ownership of a well‑established 3‑bed EBD home with a committed staff team, strong organisational backing, and an interim manager already in place to support a smooth transition. The home is ready for a confident, child‑centred leader who can bring consistency, direction and ambition.

If you’re passionate about delivering outstanding outcomes and have experience navigating Ofsted inspections, this role offers the autonomy, support and platform to make a genuine impact.

Why This Role Stands Out

  • Stabilisation focus — ideal for a manager who thrives on improving culture, practice and outcomes
  • Strong staffing base — permanent and bank Support Workers already in post
  • 3‑bed model — 2 children are very settled and a 3rd awaiting placement
  • Interim manager in place — ensuring continuity and support during handover
  • Open to strong Deputies / Team Leaders stepping up — if you’ve led teams and been through Ofsted, you’ll be considered

The Role

As Registered Manager, you will lead the day‑to‑day running of the home, ensuring children with emotional and behavioural difficulties receive safe, nurturing and therapeutically informed care.

You will:

  • Provide visible, child‑centred leadership to the staff team
  • Drive stability, consistency and quality across the home
  • Ensure full compliance with Children’s Homes Regulations 2015, Quality Standards and Ofsted expectations
  • Work closely with the Responsible Individual, escalating concerns appropriately
  • Lead on safeguarding, incident management and multi‑agency collaboration
  • Implement actions from Reg 44, Reg 45, audits and inspections
  • Promote a culture of professional curiosity, learning and continuous improvement

This role is perfect for someone who enjoys taking a service from “steady” to “strong”, embedding good practice and building a confident, motivated team.

About You

You will bring:

  • Experience managing or supervising services for children & young people
  • Strong background supporting children with EBD/complex needs
  • Solid understanding of safeguarding, risk management and regulatory compliance
  • Knowledge of the Children’s Homes Regulations and Quality Standards
  • Experience with Ofsted inspections (Good or better preferred)
  • Level 5 Residential Childcare qualification (or willingness to complete)
  • Ambition, resilience and a child‑centred leadership style

Whether you’re an established Registered Manager or a Deputy/Team Leader ready for your first registration, your ability to stabilise, motivate and lead will be key.

Salary & Benefits

  • Private medical insurance
  • Company pension
  • Free parking
  • Strong organisational support and RI oversight

Your Impact

Success in this role means:

  • A stable, safe and nurturing home
  • Strong safeguarding practice
  • High‑quality records and meaningful participation from children
  • Clear regulatory compliance and improved outcomes
