Site Supervisor – Highways & Roundabout Scheme

The Opportunity

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Site Supervisor to join a major highways project in Wells, Somerset, working for a leading Tier 1 contractor.

The project involves the construction of a new roundabout and associated road infrastructure, providing an excellent opportunity to join a high-profile civil engineering scheme with work secured through to February 2027 at a minimum.

We are looking for a proactive and experienced supervisor who can take responsibility for the day-to-day coordination of site activities, ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with the project programme.

The Role

As Site Supervisor, you will be responsible for:

  • Supervising day-to-day highways and civil engineering works on site
  • Managing and coordinating site teams, subcontractors and plant
  • Overseeing the construction of the new roundabout and associated roadworks
  • Ensuring works are completed safely, to programme and to the required quality standards
  • Monitoring site activities and ensuring works are carried out in accordance with RAMS
  • Liaising with Site Agents, Engineers, subcontractors and the wider project team
  • Conducting toolbox talks, briefings and daily site coordination
  • Monitoring progress and reporting any issues or delays to the management team
  • Ensuring all health, safety, environmental and quality procedures are followed
  • Maintaining accurate site records and ensuring works are completed to specification

Requirements

The successful candidate will have:

  • Proven experience as a Site Supervisor within highways/civil engineering
  • Experience working on highways, road construction, roundabouts or associated infrastructure
  • Minimum Gold CSCS card
  • SSSTS qualification – essential
  • Strong knowledge of health & safety requirements and RAMS
  • Ability to effectively manage site teams and subcontractors
  • Good communication and organisational skills
  • Previous experience working for a Tier 1 contractor would be highly advantageous
