Role Overview
Senior Building Surveyor – Commercial Building Consultancy, London.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and deliver professional building surveying instructions.
- Undertake project management and contract administration duties.
- Carry out technical due diligence and pre‑acquisition surveys.
- Provide dilapidations, landlord and tenant, and party wall advice.
- Prepare specifications, schedules of condition and defect reports.
- Conduct building pathology assessments and reinstatement cost assessments.
- Ensure projects are delivered to a high professional standard and within agreed timescales.
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships.
- Identify and secure new business opportunities.Collaborate with colleagues across the wider business to generate cross‑selling opportunities.
- Support achievement of fee income and business growth objectives.
- Mentor and support junior surveyors and graduates, sharing technical knowledge and best practice.
- Act as a positive role model and contribute to the department’s success.
Qualifications
- MRICS qualification.
- Experience working within commercial building surveying.
- Strong knowledge of landlord and tenant matters, dilapidations, technical due diligence and project work.
- Working knowledge of JCT contracts.
- Excellent report‑writing and communication skills.
- A client‑focused and commercially aware approach.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.
- Experience supporting or mentoring junior team members.
- Desirable: experience using AutoCAD, knowledge of NBS Specification Writer and Microsoft Project.
