Senior Civil Structural Engineer

Responsibilities

• Lead and undertake civil and structural design activities across water and wastewater projects.
• Prepare and review engineering calculations, technical reports and design documentation.
• Deliver reinforced concrete and structural designs for water‑retaining and buried structures.
• Support the technical delivery of major AMP8 programmes and capital investment schemes.
• Mentor and develop junior engineers and graduates.
• Manage project deliverables to quality, programme and budget requirements.
• Engage confidently with clients, contractors and internal project teams.
• Contribute to work‑winning activities and technical excellence initiatives.

Requirements

• Approximately 5+ years’ experience in civil and structural engineering, ideally gained within the UK water sector.
• Experience designing reinforced concrete structures.
• Knowledge of water‑retaining structures, tanks, chambers and buried assets.
• Experience in the water and wastewater sector.
• Understanding of retaining wall and foundation design.
• Experience preparing and checking engineering calculations, reports and technical specifications.

Demonstrates expertise in civil and structural engineering with a focus on reinforced concrete design for water‑retaining and buried structures. Proven ability to manage project deliverables while mentoring junior engineers and engaging effectively with clients and project teams.
