About the Role

Our client is looking for a proficient Remote Automotive Embedded Software Developer to join their innovative engineering team. This position offers the flexibility to work from anywhere in South Africa , focusing on the design, development, and testing of embedded software for critical automotive systems. You will be instrumental in creating reliable and efficient software solutions for components such as engine control units, body control modules, and infotainment systems. The ideal candidate is a proactive coder with a strong understanding of embedded systems and a commitment to delivering high-quality software in a remote collaboration environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain embedded software for automotive applications using C/C++ and RTOS.
• Design and optimize software modules for performance, reliability, and resource efficiency in embedded systems.
• Write clean, well-documented, and testable code, participating actively in code reviews.
• Collaborate with system engineers and hardware developers to define software requirements and architecture.
• Debug and troubleshoot embedded software issues, utilizing appropriate diagnostic tools and techniques in a remote setting .
• Ensure software developed adheres to automotive quality standards and safety regulations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience as an Embedded Software Developer , with a strong preference for automotive industry experience.
• Proficiency in C and/or C++ programming languages and experience with real-time operating systems (RTOS).
• Familiarity with automotive communication protocols like CAN, LIN, and Automotive Ethernet.
• Experience with embedded development tools, including compilers, debuggers, and version control systems (e.g., Git).
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and strong communication skills for effective remote teamwork .
