This role will involve the mechanical assembly, installation and fitting of large-scale industrial machinery and equipment. You will be working from engineering drawings and technical instructions to build, assemble and install mechanical components to a high standard.
The Role
As a Mechanical Fitter, your responsibilities will include:
Mechanical assembly and fitting of large industrial machinery and equipmentWorking from engineering drawings, assembly instructions and technical specificationsFitting mechanical components including shafts, bearings, motors, gearboxes and other assembliesUsing a range of hand tools, power tools and workshop equipmentCarrying out installation, alignment and adjustment of mechanical componentsDiagnosing and rectifying mechanical faults where requiredEnsuring all work is completed accurately and to the required quality standardsWorking safely and following all health and safety procedures
The Candidate
The successful candidate will ideally have:
Previous experience as a Mechanical Fitter, Machine Fitter, Assembly Fitter or similarExperience working on large industrial machinery, manufacturing equipment or heavy mechanical assembliesAbility to read and interpret engineering drawingsStrong xwwtmva mechanical fitting and assembly skillsExperience using a variety of hand and power toolsExperience fitting components such as bearings, shafts, motors, gearboxes and mechanical assembliesA strong understanding of health and safety proceduresThe ability to work independently as well as part of a teamThis is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Mechanical Fitter to join an established engineering environment and work on large-scale machinery and equipment…
