About the Role
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Export Freight Forwarder to join a busy and growing logistics team based in Basildon. This is an excellent opportunity for a freight professional who can confidently manage export shipments from start to finish and has experience across multimodal transport.
The successful candidate will be responsible for handling export operations across air, sea, and road freight, ensuring shipments are processed efficiently and delivered to the highest standards of customer service.
Key Responsibilities
Managing export shipments via air, sea, and road freightPreparing and processing customs clearance documentationProducing and issuing client quotationsRaising transport documentation including Air Waybills (AWBs), Bills of Lading, and associated shipping paperworkLiaising with customers, carriers, hauliers, and overseas agentsMonitoring shipments and providing regular customer updatesManaging files from initial quotation through to final deliveryEnsuring all documentation and compliance requirements are completed accurately
Requirements
Previous experience within export freight forwardingKnowledge of air, sea, and road export operationsCustoms clearance experience and trainingAbility to create and manage customer quotationsExperience preparing AWBs, Bills of Lading, and export documentationStrong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple shipments simultaneouslyCapable of handling export files independently from start to finishExcellent communication and customer service skills
