Technology Services Project Support Officer
This post is a 12 Month Fixed Term / Secondment position. As per the Fixed Term Contacts Policy – Where individuals with continuous service within the NHS apply for fixed-term contract roles, PSD Scotland reserves the right to refuse any such appointment.
On 1 April 2026, NHS National Services Scotland (NSS) and NHS Education for Scotland (NES) became one national organisation, focused on continuity today and a stronger, more connected service for tomorrow.
As part of this transformation, NSS and NES have joined to form a new organisation: Public Services Delivery Scotland (PSD Scotland). This new organisation will play a pivotal role in supporting the renewal and ensuring the long-term sustainability of health and care services across Scotland.
About the Organisation:
PSD Scotland unites expertise from NES and NSS in a way that will allow us to accelerate national programmes to support the NHS to deliver better care, now and in the future.
We support staff with education and training, provide the tools and data that improve services, and run vital national functions such as procurement, logistics and blood, tissue and cell services.
The Post:
Within PSD Scotland, National Procurement Technology Services provides strategic leadership and delivery of digital and eProcurement solutions that support once for Scotland ways of working.
We are seeking a proactive and organised Technology Services Project Support Officer to join our Technology Services team.
The post holder will provide a high quality project support function across a range of technology and digital initiatives, supporting effective planning, governance, reporting, and delivery. You will work closely with project managers, technical teams, and a wide range of stakeholders, contributing to the successful delivery of nationally significant programmes.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Provide comprehensive project and service support across Technology Services initiatives
- Contribute to project and service reporting by analysing progress, risks, issues, and dependencies
- Support governance activity, including preparation of papers, coordination of meetings, minute taking, and action tracking
- Work effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders to support delivery and information flow
- Use Microsoft 365 tools (including Excel, SharePoint, Teams, and Word) to manage documentation, data, and collaboration
- Support continuous improvement by contributing to the development of templates, processes, and ways of working
The Candidate:
This is a varied and rewarding role, ideal for someone with experience in project or service support who is ready to take on greater responsibility within a complex and fast paced environment.
You will have experience providing project or service support in a complex organisation and be confident working with minimal supervision. You will bring strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate clearly with stakeholders at all levels.
Experience of supporting technology or digital change, and working within healthcare or the public sector, would be an advantage.
Location and Working Pattern:
This post will be based at National Distribution Centre, Larkhall.
Current hybrid working.
The work pattern for this post is Monday to Friday, 36 hours per week.
It is a condition of this employment that you must live and remain a resident within the UK and have entitlement to work in the UK for the post in which you will be employed.
