Area Planning Manager Hybrid working available £500 – 550 per day – DOE 6 Month Initial contract 37 hours per week Job Ref – 69218n n Lead and shape a high-performing Development Management Service within a leading Midlands Local Authority. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced senior planning professional to manage an area-based planning team, oversee complex applications and support the delivery of strategic service objectives. n Key responsibilities:n · Manage and lead a professional Development Management team, providing guidance, mentoring and support n · Oversee planning applications, including large and complex proposals n · Lead the management and presentation of applications to planning committees n · Provide strategic planning advice to Members, senior officers, applicants and key stakeholders n · Deputise for the Planning and Development Services Manager when required n · Manage performance, resources and workloads to ensure an effective planning service n · Prepare committee reports and represent the Council at hearings, inquiries and other meetings n · Support strategic development projects and drive continuous service improvement n Requirements:n · Significant Local Authority planning experience at a senior management level n · Strong knowledge of Development Management, planning legislation and regulatory processes n · Experience leading and developing professional planning teams n · Experience managing complex planning applications and presenting to committees n · Confidence representing a Council at appeals, hearings or public inquiries n · Ability to build strong relationships with Members, developers and key stakeholders n n Please call Jake Herrington on 02393 876015 for a confidential discussion on this role, or email: jake.herrington@carringtonwest.com planning@carringtonwest.comn n Carrington West's dedicated Town Planning Recruitment Team supplies clients UK-wide on both a permanent and contract basis at all levels of seniority.
