Company description:XPO TRANSPORT SOLUTIONS EUROPEJob description:Logistics done differently.We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Transport Operations Manager to join our Tesco Widnes operation. You will be working Sunday to Thursday, 23:00-07:00, you’ll be responsible for leading the night transport operation, supporting and developing colleagues, maintaining compliance standards, and ensuring excellent service delivery for our customer.

In addition, we offer 25 days holiday plus bank holidays with an option to buy an extra 5 days yearly. Youll have access to a variety of high street discounts, as well as a cycle to work scheme, a workplace pension and many other perks.What youll do on a typical day:You will be the most senior point of contact throughout the night and will have management of 14 office colleagues and 210 volume colleagues (excluding agency) plus subcontractorsManage the overall operation of the depot on a night-to-night basis ensuring that agreed targets are achieved in line with business and customer requirements.Monitor planning and dispatch performance and make decisions to protect Customer ServiceEnsure the Site is legally compliant by ensuring correct processes are in place, have an owner and are monitored.Ensure reporting deadlines are met for both Financial and Compliance requirements.Proactively promote a health & safety cultureSupport & encourage a good team working spirit and ensure that the transport team work effectively with the Planning team and communicate frequently to achieve the business objectivesFollow all HR requirements in relation to disciplinary, absence management and return to work situationsMaximise the potential of new employees by ensuring their operational and psychological engagement and their continual development within the business.Ensure appropriate understanding to enable individuals to meet their role requirements and to create involvement and engagement through two-way communication mechanisms.What you need to succeed at XPO:Excellent communication skillsPlanning and organising skillsGood communication & presentation skillsCoaching & Leadership skillsExemplary customer service skillsTaking responsibility and demonstrating commitmentPersuasion and influencing skillsDecision makingBe part of something big.We strive to create an inclusive environment for all our colleagues, where everyone feels welcomed, empowered and where you can bring your true self to work.
