Overview
In this role you will develop, qualify and optimize dry and wet etch processes for III-V semiconductor devices, driving process improvements and supporting NPI. You will work with cross-functional teams to transfer technology into production, improve yield and manufacturing efficiency, and troubleshoot process and equipment issues. You will leverage process data and problem‑solving methods to reduce defects and cycle times, shaping advanced photonic and semiconductor manufacturing. Responsibilities
- Develop, qualify, and improve semiconductor manufacturing processes
- Optimize dry and wet etch processes for performance, repeatability, and yield
- Analyze process and equipment data using SPC, DOE, Six Sigma, and Lean methodologies
- Support NPI, technology transfer, and process scale-up into production
- Troubleshoot process and equipment issues to improve uptime and reduce defects
- Lead yield improvement, scrap reduction, cycle time, and cost-reduction initiatives
- Collaborate with Product, Equipment, Manufacturing, and R&D teams
Key requirements
- Experience in semiconductor or advanced manufacturing (photonics, III-V, MEMS, optoelectronics, silicon photonics desirable)
- Strong knowledge of SPC, DOE, Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, and root cause analysis
- Experience with statistical data analysis, process optimisation, and manufacturing problem solving
- Good communication skills and ability to work independently and within multidisciplinary teams
- Degree (or equivalent experience) in Semiconductor Technology, Materials Science, Physics, Chemistry, Chemical/Electronic Engineering, or related discipline
