Training Manager

Overview

In this Training Manager role, you will design and deliver vocational and technical training for engineers and apprentices on site across the UK. You will support learners through NVQ pathways, mentor a range of experience levels, and ensure compliance with industry standards. The position focuses on developing a Level 3 Substation Fitter qualification and continuously improving training programmes. This hands-on role combines field delivery with people development in a reputable engineering contractor environment.

Responsibilities

• Deliver structured vocational and technical training to engineers and apprentices
• Conduct on-site assessments and support learners through NVQ qualifications
• Mentor, coach and develop individuals at varying experience levels
• Ensure training delivery aligns with industry standards and compliance requirements
• Support the continuous improvement of training programmes
• Travel to sites across the UK to engage directly with the workforce

Key requirements

• A1 Assessor / CAVA qualification (or willingness to obtain)
• Experience with NVQs or apprenticeship programmes
• Exposure to High Voltage / Substation environments
• Ex-forces background (e.g. Royal Engineers, Navy, RAF engineering roles)
