Responsibilities

• Lead the preparation, submission, and review of tenders and cost plans
• Produce accurate estimates from concept to detailed tender submissions
• Price projects from first principles, including materials and subcontractors
• Prepare quantities and cost plans from limited design information
• Manage multiple projects across the pre-construction lifecycle
• Liaise with clients, designers, suppliers, subcontractors, and internal teams
• Attend tender meetings, negotiations, and handovers
• Assess risks, opportunities, and market competition
• Develop relationships with key supply chain partners
• Prepare tender settlement documents and adjudication reports
• Ensure compliance with estimating procedures and commercial requirements
• Mentor junior estimators, trainees, and graduates
• Support business development and client engagement
• Maintain estimating databases and cost information systems
• Utilise estimating software and digital take-off tools for cost assessments

Key requirements

• Proven experience as a Senior Estimator or Estimator in construction
• Strong understanding of estimating on large-scale building projects
• Experience with framework agreements and traditional tendering
• Excellent numerical, analytical, and commercial skills
• Strong communication and stakeholder management
• Ability to interpret complex drawings, specs, and construction methodologies
• Experience preparing cost plans, tender submissions, and procurement packages
• Proficient in estimating software and digital take-off systems
• Ability to manage multiple tenders and deadlines
