Project Engineer

Overview

In this role you will support delivery of a major government framework project from a Granton site. You will work with the construction and technical teams to ensure safe, accurate and quality-focused execution. You will coordinate engineering activities, review drawings and specifications, and provide technical support to site teams and stakeholders. The opportunity includes a strong project pipeline across Edinburgh and the surrounding region, offering long-term scope and impact within a leading contractor. You will solve practical technical issues and help drive project coordination and progress reporting.

Pay / Benefits

• salary up to 65k + package

Responsibilities

• Coordinating engineering and technical activities on site
• Reviewing drawings, specifications and construction information
• Providing technical support to the site and project teams
• Managing setting-out requirements and resolving technical queries
• Liaising with subcontractors, consultants and other project stakeholders
• Monitoring quality and ensuring work complies with the relevant drawings and specifications
• Supporting progress meetings, reporting and project coordination
• Identifying potential technical issues and helping to develop practical solutions

Key requirements

• Experience with housebuilder or main contractor
• Experience delivering flatted residential developments or large construction projects
• A relevant construction or civil engineering qualification
• Strong technical knowledge and ability to interpret construction drawings
• Excellent communication and coordination skills
• Proactive problem-solving
• Ability to work effectively with site teams, consultants and subcontractors
