Design Coordinator

Overview

In this role you coordinate design information across designers, clients and project teams to ensure accuracy, completeness and on-time issue of documents. Based in Glasgow with limited site visits, you support major infrastructure projects from design through to delivery. You’ll manage document control and track design deliverables, helping cross-functional teams stay aligned and hurdles resolved. You will work closely with stakeholders to keep information flowing and projects on schedule.

Responsibilities

• Review design information for completeness and readiness for client issue
• Identify queries, inconsistencies and missing information and escalate for resolution
• Act as the main link between designers, clients and project teams to ensure efficient information flow
• Coordinate production, review and distribution of design documentation
• Maintain document control procedures and ensure accurate recording and tracking
• Monitor design deliverables against programme milestones and support the project team to keep designs on schedule
• Ensure designers have the information required to progress their work and remove barriers
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to support successful project delivery

Key requirements

• Experience coordinating design information across multiple disciplines
• Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines and stakeholders
• Good communication skills with designers, clients and project teams
• Understanding of infrastructure project delivery and design processes
• Experience in design coordination or design management
• Experience in civil engineering or infrastructure design consultancy
• Experience in client-side project or information management
• Document control within engineering or construction projects
• Project coordination within infrastructure or major construction environments
