Overview
As a Power Systems Engineer, you’ll design and assess electrical power infrastructure across LV to HV networks, supporting a growing power systems team. You’ll work on diverse projects in healthcare, education, and industry, delivering technical studies and configurations that meet DNO and client requirements. You’ll contribute to renewable and embedded generation initiatives and guide design through to commissioning. This role offers development, exposure to challenging projects, and collaboration with experienced engineers in a forward‑looking firm.

Responsibilities
- Design electrical distribution systems from LV through to HV networks
- Produce power system studies (load flow, fault level, protection coordination, network analysis)
- Develop substation, cable network and electrical infrastructure designs
- Conduct site surveys and assess existing installations
- Prepare technical reports, calculations, specifications and design documentation
- Liaise with Distribution Network Operators (DNOs) for connections and upgrades
- Support renewable energy and embedded generation projects including G99 applications
- Attend meetings to present technical solutions and review contractor works during delivery and commissioning
Key requirements
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems Engineering or related discipline
- Experience in power systems, electrical engineering or consulting environments
- Knowledge of electrical distribution networks, substations and power infrastructure
- Experience with ETAP, IPSA+, ERACS, DIgSILENT PowerFactory, Trimble, Electrical OM or similar
- AutoCAD proficiency; Revit beneficial
- Understanding of power system studies (protection, grading, fault analysis)
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and in multidisciplinary teams
