As Lead Controls Engineer you will steer a team delivering control systems for abatement projects, ensuring performance, safety, and regulatory compliance. You will work with electrical, mechanical, and software colleagues to integrate controls into larger projects. Your role focuses on leading, mentoring, testing, and continuous improvement of control solutions. You will engage with customers to clarify needs and provide expert technical support. Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and set goals for the controls team
• Drive continuous improvement in processes and methodologies
• Collaboration with electrical, mechanical, and software teams for integration
• Ensure performance, safety, and regulatory compliance through testing and validation
• Offer technical support and troubleshooting for complex control-system issues
• Mentor junior engineers to grow their control systems expertise
• Engage with customers to understand requirements and provide technical guidance

Key requirements

• HND in a relevant technical discipline (essential)
• 3 years in controls and software within relevant industries (desirable)
• Good level of spoken and written English
• Occasional customer site visits may be necessary
• PLC programming – ladder logic, structured text, function blocks, data structures (essential)
• HMI programming using VB.net or other high level languages (essential)
• Communications protocols – Modbus TCP, EtherCAT (desirable)
• Creation of technical documentation (essential)
