Architect, NHP Delivery Lead

Overview

As an Associate Principal Healthcare Architect, you will lead and deliver major healthcare projects while guiding smaller schemes within a collaborative studio. You’ll drive clinical planning through RIBA Stages 0–4, build client relationships, and mentor teams to design high-quality, sustainable spaces. This role sits in a creative, inclusive studio focused on problem solving across Health, Education, Science and Living sectors. You’ll influence programming, resourcing, and project delivery to create healthier, safer places that improve people’s lives. This is a senior, hands-on leadership role with impact across projects, teams and the business development agenda.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate design and construction phases across healthcare projects
• Manage program, budget, and resources; promote best practices within the studio
• Oversee contract documentation, design teams and contract administration
• Lead large/complex projects or smaller ones independently; support studio management
• Develop client relationships and manage team communication and budgets
• Resolve complex technical and design issues; conduct on-site inspections and document site reviews
• Maintain project documentation, drawings and specifications; process change requests and RFI responses
• Interface with statutory authorities; contribute to proposals and presentations
• Promote people management, teamwork, and knowledge sharing
• Support business development and adherence to quality, environmental, and safety systems

Key requirements

• RIBA Part 3 qualified and ARB registered
• Minimum 10 years post-qualification experience
• Experience on UK healthcare and potentially science projects
• Experience leading larger projects and day-to-day leadership of smaller projects
• Working knowledge of Revit; BIM experience
• Strong knowledge of building regulations, design standards and best practice
• Strong leadership, organizational, and relationship-management skills
