Senior Mechanical Engineer

Overview

In this role you will lead mechanical design of innovative hardware from concept to production. You will work within a collaborative, multidisciplinary team to deliver integrated products that deliver commercial impact. You will own prototypes, testing, and manufacturability improvements while partnering with electronics and software teams. This position offers tangible scope to shape product quality and scale. You will contribute to moving designs smoothly into high-volume manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Lead the mechanical design and development of hardware products using SolidWorks
• Create high-quality 3D CAD models, assemblies and manufacturing drawings
• Collaborate with electronics, firmware and software teams for integrated products
• Design for manufacturability, reliability, performance and cost
• Lead prototype builds, testing and mechanical validation
• Coordinate with suppliers and manufacturing partners to transition to production
• Contribute to manufacturing readiness, procurement activities and production scale-up
• Identify and implement design improvements to enhance quality, performance and manufacturability

Key requirements

• At least five years’ experience in mechanical product design and development
• Advanced SolidWorks experience with capable manufacturing documentation
• Experience taking products from concept through to manufacture
• Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles and integration of electronics into assemblies
• Experience working with suppliers, manufacturing partners and production environments
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative engineering team
