Quality Assurance Manager, Produce & Fresh

Overview

In this role you will own end-to-end produce and fresh quality across the supply chain, from supplier to fulfilment centers. You’ll work hands-on in FCs, DCs, and supplier sites to define and enforce standards that deliver the best produce in London. You’ll investigate issues at the source, coach teams, and partner with categories to shape purchases and forecasts. This is a practical, ground‑level QA role with a focus on customer satisfaction and product quality.

Responsibilities

• Define end-to-end quality standards for Produce and Fresh and ensure adherence at every stage
• Conduct regular on-site inspections in FCs and the DC and coach teams on handling, rotation, and presentation
• Manage supplier quality relationships, set specifications, and hold suppliers accountable
• Visit supplier sites and markets to assess quality at the source and build firsthand knowledge
• Investigate quality complaints and root cause analysis across FC, DC, and supplier levels
• Collaborate with Category Management and Supply Chain to influence procurement and forecasting based on quality
• Maintain customer-focused perspective in all inspections and supplier conversations

Key requirements

• Experience in QA, QC, or technical/produce buying, preferably in fresh produce, grocery, or FMCG
• Comfort with on-ground work across FCs, DCs, and supplier sites
• Proven track record of managing supplier quality relationships and enforcing specs
• Strong analytical skills with data-driven problem solving
• Genuine curiosity about produce and ability to discern quality levels
