Lead Mechanical Engineer

Overview

As Lead Mechanical Design Engineer, you will drive the mechanical design of rugged hardware from concept to manufacture, ensuring robust performance in demanding environments. You will collaborate across materials, thermal management, and sealing, and lead prototyping, testing, and validation. You will engineer for DfM and DfA and provide technical leadership across multidisciplinary teams. This role suits an experienced engineer with aerospace/defence exposure who thrives on hands-on prototyping and delivering manufacturable solutions. You will shape products that meet high reliability and environmental requirements while working with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Leading mechanical design from concept through to manufacture
• Developing robust products for challenging environments

Key requirements

• Experience developing complex hardware products in aerospace, defence or similar industries
• Strong 3D CAD skills—SolidWorks, Siemens NX or similar
• A proven track record taking products from concept through to manufacture
• Hands-on prototyping and testing experience
• The ability to lead technical projects and work across multidisciplinary teams
